Saying thanks ...

I've come to be acutely aware that all the times I've asked for something from the "powers that be" that I believe are somewhere out there, I'm usually granted some version of what I asked for.

(The secret is also that when it's really too important, I ask amma to ask for it, her prayers seem to evoke better response than mine, better karma I think).

So anyway, what I've also realized is that once these prayers are granted, I usually am very very bad at saying thanks, sometimes even just once.

We all tend to do that as people no? (Or is it just me? Am I an ungrateful wretch, and the only one around?) We're really earnest about the "asking" portion and much much less earnest about the "thanking"?

Just writing this to remind myself and everyone out there who ever has wishes, don't forget to say your thanks when they're granted.

Many many times, if you can.

I probably know the version of what you got, but it'll be interesting to find out what exactly you asked for :-))

You know what, I was just thinking of this a couple of days back. I am not only bad at not giving thanks, but I also seem to take credit at times for what is really due to the powers-beyond-me. To compensate, I praise their all-forgiving nature even more.

"Thanks" might not be enough for what I have got :)

:) hehehe!

ok I'm going to be a lil miss goody-two-shoes for a minute :D

I'm kinda weird like that .. I don't like praying for favors .. I almost disliked it when my frenz wud pray religiously during the exam week ... so I really try and avoid praying for anything! Ego I guess, or maybe a guilty conscience for not being regular about my prayers ...

but I'm very superstitious about good times and good things so almost as soon as I get something I really really wanted I go and say my prayer of thanks asap and maybe even try and keep a fast for a day if its a real big deal :D

yeah .. I'm kinda weird like that :D

Ketan: Childlike eh? Oh well, they do say i'm kinda young at heart. Now i know what they mean :D

Nutty-Weirdo: Why that's weird I don't know! Open displays of faith are fairly irritating either way no? It's understandable. :) If ur bigger on thanks than asking, then ur a bigger person than i am, not weirder :)
